Decluttering?
Helping people access learning, to continue studies or get professional qualifications?
Supporting someone to resolve their immigration status?
Keeping material out of landfill?
Whatever your reason, we hope you will be able to support our ongoing campaign to help repurpose unwanted digital devices for some of the region’s most vulnerable people.
We work with Bradford-based organisation Solidaritech CIC who repurpose your unwanted devices, passing them on to asylum seekers and refugees across the region.
Solidaritech will professionally wipe your old hard drives, installing new Operating Systems to make a new, quicker and more usable machine. If you prefer, you can wipe your own machine before donating it, following the guidelines.
Tablets
Laptops
Smart phones
all ideally with their charging cables, batteries etc.
Devices should ideally be less than 5 years old and in working order.
Older equipment in working order may also be accepted, but please check with us first.
Donations should be put into a bag or box, with chargers attached or bagged with the relevant device, along with a note about if it has been wiped or what the password is (especially on any Apple device). Drop off or collection can be arranged by emailing techcollection@climateactionilkley.org.uk.
